Pinspired Project #1

I heart wreaths! Seriously, I do! I love driving by and seeing pretty wreaths on people's doors. To me, they just say, "Welcome To Our Home!"

My door hear was bare for probably a month and a half even though I had a box of wreaths that were moved to the new house. The wreaths made it, but I still can't figure out where my wreath hangers are! Reluctantly, I bought a new one knowing there are 2 or 3 hiding here somewhere.

On to my project.

I had seen a couple of these painted grapevine wreaths in my extended Pinterest browsing sessions. You know those quick peeks at Pinterest that turn into an hour. Your kids are begging for food and you keep saying "Just a second." Yeah, one of those.

It is a simple design with unlimited possibilities. Since I didn't know I would be writing about Pinterest projects for 31 days, I didn't take pictures of the wreath making process.

Necessary Materials:
Grapevine wreath (any size or shape, available at your local craft store)
Can of spray paint (I had this blue on hand from a previous project)
Flowers of your choice (artificial, fabric, plastic, etc)
Ribbon for a bow
Glue Gun
Other embellishments (letters, numbers, etc)

Here's what you do:
Thoroughly cover your grapevine wreath in spray paint. A couple of coats front and back will do. Decide where you want to place your flowers and hot glue them to the painted grapevine wreath. Make a bow. Bow making is my weakness! This is about the only style of bow that I can make that looks like a bow. Attach bow to grapevine wreath with hot glue. Hang on your door hanger on your front door! Easy Peasy!!

I want to make another like this using fabric flowers of some sort, but I need to work on my fabric flower making skills first.

  1. This would also be pretty with fall leaves instead of flowers. May have to try making one myself. This wreath love must run in the family.
