Shortly after we moved into our house, I decided I wanted to turn our 4th bedroom into a craft room/officey kind of room. Unfortunately, I haven't done as much crafting in this room as I thought I would - - my life isn't Simple enough to achieve that - - and it often looks like the pictures below.
Now we have a crib in this room, as well. My crafting has come to a screeching halt! I actually have an unfinished hairbow/headband project sitting on the kitchen counter since this space is typically unusable. Sad, sad.
If you look carefully at the picture on the bottom left corner, you will notice a sewing machine there. You will also see one in the picture above, on top of the table. That's 2 sewing machines and I just received another as an early Christmas gift! You can imagine 2 items that will end up in a sell pile really soon!
Tackling this mess and all the unnecessary craft supplies that I have accumulated because I might need them or use them some day is high on my list. I want a Simple life with less stuff so that I can start creating and using my new sewing machine.
I think tomorrow we will actually start looking at what sort of process I am planning to put in place to move toward this Dream of Simple!
One thing I have made myself do lately is throw things away. I used to have all kinds of things that I thought I should give to goodwill or save for a yard sale, or keep for white elephant gifts, etc. But I went to goodwill with my stuff and they had such an enormous pile of their own stuff mine was completely unnecessary. So now I just throw stuff out and it feels so good to let it go and see the empty spot where it sat.
