One final word on those things that keep me from sitting down at this laptop and actually typing eloquently onto this here blog! Projects. Yes, Projects. Lots of half done, not complete, some never making from mind to fingers Projects! Being enlightened about the amazing world of Pinterest hasn't helped matters in this department much.
Here's just a few little snippets of projects that are in the works.
First there's my laundry room makeover that began at the end of July and still isn't complete. I finally broke down 2 days ago and put the first coat of paint on the ceiling, but since painting wasn't really on my to-do list that day, I didn't go through the trouble of taking down this light fixture or taping around it. There's other touch up work to do as well. I had to pull 4 5 gallon buckets of paint out of the attic to find the paint for the trim. I think my husband hid it all from me under a box spring so I wouldn't be so tempted to paint! Trust me, he'll be glad I found it. Ever try to paint under a security system control box when there's only about 1/2 an inch between the edge of the box and the trim around the door. No more explanation needed, right? Qtips were finally the best paint brush I could find for the job.
In my determination to get the laundry room complete, I started working on some wall decor. I spent a little while Monday night working on this dry erase board from an old frame and scrapbook paper. It would be even more useful by our main exit of the house if I had a working dry erase marker to go with it. I'll work on that. I have the supplies for another wall project already purchased. Hopefully I'll get to that one tonight or tomorrow.
The next major project on my list is to paint the kitchen/dining room. I have 2 walls spotted with test colors and have decided on one of these for the kitchen and one for the living room. The living room will probably get done when I invite friends over for a glass of wine, but substitute paint rollers for wine glasses when they walk in the door.
Then today, while I had a few minutes to kill before picking up JB from MDO, I pulled out some of my fall decorations that have been in the attic. Now they're scattered here and there waiting for me to decide where their homes will be for a month or two. I have other fall things I want to add to what I already have so that lengthens my projects list. I'm afraid that by the time I have this figured out, it's going to be time to pull out the Christmas trees!
Along with all my inside projects I have juggling, I also need to do some maintenance to my flower bed and lawn. I have a blister on my finger from pulling weeds this morning. That gives an indication of the kind of work I need to do.
To make matters worse, but really better, I also have a shortened time line to get some of my "while he's away" projects completed because we found out recently that this deployment will be cut short! Yay and Yikes!
This is my final Groove Blocker post! Tomorrow we'll start getting this thing current, which may require us to go all the way back to 2010.
yes, the time travelers wife! even if it is only one year back. Love your projects and your fireplace is gorgeous!
