In a family of 5, there are lots of opportunities to celebrate birthdays. All of our birthdays fall in the first half of the year so from June on, it's not all that exciting until we get to Christmas.
I've never been a big party thrower for the kids, but it looks like they have plans and ideas of their own for their next parties! Watch out! F4 actually has a post it note on his bedroom door with his name and Chuck E. Cheese written on it. I guess he wants me to remember where he wants his next birthday party to be. I sure hope I don't disappoint. Last year, F6 had the names of all his classmates written on a piece of paper as his invite list for his next party. I hope he's lost that paper and forgotten about that idea!
On to the first birthday and social gathering in the new house - F4's 4th Birthday in January.
It was a small celebration with just our family and Paw Paw, GG and Aunt Beth. I let F4 pick out his cake and he decided he wanted a race car cake. He went with Cpt to pick up the cake on the day of our little celebration and apparently decided he wanted construction zone plates and table cloth. He must have been feeling a little schizophrenic and couldn't decide what he wanted the theme of his party to be.
As you can see, he and his sister really enjoyed the cake! If
I remember right, his sister ate a couple of pieces of cake and
multiple slices of pizza. She likes her birthday party food, for sure. My sister has a great picture of her where she really looks like she's on the verge of a sugar coma!
GG and Paw Paw gave him this Handy Manny construction set that is still one of his favorite toys. I can't even count the number of times I've gone hunting down the Manny figurine or refereed an argument over who was going to be playing with Manny's truck.
It was a happy birthday for my favorite blonde boy in his new house. He's already asking how long until January and what day in January his birthday is on. I better start saving my pennies for this Chuck E Cheese party that he has his little strong willed mind set on. The days of just doing the bare minimum with these 2 is behind me, I'm afraid! Happy Birthday - late and early - to the blonde haired blue eyed kid who lives up to his name on a daily basis and has his mommy wrapped around his little finger!
