Thankful Thursday

I have come to really look forward to Thursdays since we've moved to OK. It's the one day of the week where all the little tornadoes go to their various day time activities! I enjoy the time to get caught up on various projects or reading for PWOC. It's a day that I am truly thankful to get each week.

Here's what else I'm thankful for this week:

1) I have ordered the first 3 years of Wades' World in book format and can't wait to hold them in my hands! This was a neat experience, even though I did it as quickly and painlessly as possible. To go back and read some of the old posts and stories that I had forgotten about was really fun.

2) The mortgage loan papers have been Fedex-ed so we're praying that process goes smoothly and we'll be able to close at the end of next month.

3) A good warm pumpkin spice latte on a cool morning! We're under a frost advisory for the morning, so the cooler weather is starting to arrive.

4) F1 has finally gotten 2 teeth on the top. She's been the 2 tooth wonder for probably 9 months now.

5) Seeing the tornadoes dressed up in their lady bug, monkey and Thomas costumes to go to our apartment complex's Halloween party tonight. They were super cute!

6) We finally have local channels with our DirecTV! We got to watch CSI in primetime tonight for the first time since July.

7) It's been a great week of getting good deals on groceries and various sundries.

8) A few teacher gifts have been purchased and are being stored so when December gets here, I'm ahead of the game in some areas.

9) Discovering some new blogs to read and get ideas from. Check out all my new buttons I've added of blogs I've stumbled upon that are full of great info and ideas - everything from good deals to decorating - all my favorite things!

10) Tomorrow is Friday!!!

Thankful Thursday

On this rainy, cold and dreary Thursday in El Paso, I'm thankful for...

1) 3 kids who are full of energy and life

2) Knowing the end of this 'vacay' is in sight

3) The scale has been nice to me and I hope it is nice in the morning when I have my official weigh in

4) Piles of junk have been cleared out of some rooms of my house, but there are others that need to magically disappear

5) Having lunch yesterday with some great girlfriends here in El Paso

6) Only 2 hours until we start the bedtime routine

7) Jenna Beth survived a tumble down the stairs this week - lesson learned!

8) Looking forward to paying off some student loan debt with our tax return

9) Canned biscuits with jelly as an acceptable meal for the children

10) Making time to keep the blog updated more regularly

Thankful Thursday

On this Thursday, I am thankful for...

1) Finally getting my hair cut after 2 months!

2) Hanging out for a little while this afternoon with a friend.

3) Seeing Jenna Beth grow up more and more every day.

4) Knowing the end of this deployment is in sight.

5) Finally having our family pictures hung that were taken in October.

6) A clean house that only stays that way for about an hour after we get home.

7) The prospect of the best tax return we've ever gotten, maybe the best we'll ever get.

8) Hoping the scale will be kind to me tomorrow on my official weigh in day.

9) Having a Christmas tree free living room.

10) Warmer days, at least for now.

Thankful Thursday Makes A Comeback

My blogging motivation wanes from day to day, doesn't it?

Today may be (don't hold me to it) the return of Thankful Thursdays so here we go....

Ten Things I'm Thankful For Today

1) Bailey and Maverick both ate manwich tonight. I have almost gotten to the point of not offering Bailey new foods because it's so frustrating to continue to waste food he refuses to eat. I tried to give him manwich a few nights ago and he refused. Tonight he didn't think it was so bad.

2) Jenna Beth has the sweetest smile that always reminds me that life isn't really all that bad.

3) I ran 2 miles on the treadmill last night. That's the longest I've run since 2003!

4) Less than a week and LT will be home! Yippee Skippee!!

5) I have a brand new windshield on the van. Thanks in part to Maverick's rock throwing ability. He'll have to come up with at least 1 semester hour of college tuition on his own to cover the cost of having it replaced.

6) Duck Duck Goose in El Paso got my first contribution today. They have lots of cute stuff and I'm not as overwhelmed by their prices as I thought I would be.

7) It's been raining here and I love it! The average annual rainfall for El Paso is only 8.65 inches. Rain is a treat.

8) The boys love playing in the driveway and it always brings out their imaginations.

9) Survivor is set to DVR tonight. I think I'll score brownie points with the hubs for that one. He can watch it in person next week. and the next week.

10) My house is a wreck and there's not much I can do to keep it clean with these 3 so I've sort of given up. Que sera, sera! I do have a housecleaner who comes every other week so it's clean 2 days of every month!

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful because....

1) I have an official end date to my current duties as a piano teacher. HALLELUJAH!!!!

2) The wind is blowing like mad so the boys can't play outside. Therefore, I don't have to worry about sweeping and mopping tonight! I'm going to purchase a runner, much larger than the current doormat, to help keep my sanity and hopefully hide the little dusty foot prints on that part of the floor!

3) I purchased a pack n play/bassinet for Jenna Beth to sleep in so at least she has some place to sleep for now. I need to take it out of the box and assemble it. I hope it's easier to assemble than the storage thing I put together last night.

4) The boys got Easter Baskets from the Bailey's today so I don't have to feel like a slack mom because I've not started that project! I'll just add some to theirs and the boys will never know the difference. At some point I guess I'll hide eggs in the house and check that box, too. Thanks Dad, Ginger and Bethany!

5) My house is semi clean (minus my bedroom) which is about the only positive thing that's been happening on Thursdays here.

6) Tomorrow is mostly a day off - Good Friday - and I'm already devising my personal plans.

7) I'm hopeful that I'll get to talk to my dear husband tonight or at least chat with him or something. I'm not holding my breath because you never know what's going to happen in the Middle East.

8) The Tarheels won the National Championship on Monday. Bailey enjoyed watching them win the National Championship on my lap for the 2nd time in his short life. I'll have 2 children who were born in a year when the Tarheels have won a National Championship game. Do you think I'll ever need to remember those years for a trivia answer or something?

9) The fish are still alive and are living in a tank that looks a little more like the lake every day.

10) Thursday = CSI! Need I say more?

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful for...

1) The boys both got haircuts and it wasn't a traumatic experience for them or me. They were very well behaved and cooperative. Bailey had been slightly bribed, too.

2) Don't tell anyone I said this, my piano lessons cancelled for today and that made me breathe a sigh of relief.

3) Maverick is currently taking a nap.

4) I had 2 hours to myself this afternoon. All I did was return something at Target, go to Marshalls and put some gas in the van, but it was still nice to feel a little bit of freedom!

5) My house isn't an absolute disaster so I don't feel like I should be cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning.

6) Celebrating 2 years of life in El Paso. Can you believe it? The celebrating and that we've been here 2 years.

7) It's CSI night!

8) We're going to be having breakfast for dinner. Yum!

9) Bailey turns corners on little behavioral things every day. He still has lots of issues, but every day it seems like there's some improvement or at least an attentiveness to his need to obey.

10) Getting to pick out cards to send to LT. We dated long distance our first year and I spent lots of time at Hallmark. It's fun to revisit the feelings that part of our relationship brought ith it. I've been able to pick out some cards this time around that are a little 'off color' since I don't have to worry about turning him off and now I know him enough to know that he'll think they're funny, too.

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful for...

1) Mavvy didn't crawl out of his crib this morning so he has no new scrapes on his sweet little face.

2) My children enjoy breakfast cereal as much or more than I do.

3) Today is the beginning of the NCAA tournament and I just realized with the time difference there might be a game on while I'm home this morning. I actually set the DVR to record the UNC v Radford game.

4) Mavvy is starting to identify things as the 'baby's.' I think he understands what's going to happen in the next 8 weeks better than Bailey does.

5) Jenna Beth has a closet full of clothes already and my contribution to them has been very minimal - like less than 5%. There are more on the way, I think.

6) I've managed to score some serious diaper deals lately thanks to some great coupons I've had. I've had to quit being a Target diaper snob since I've gotten such good deals on other brands.

7) My new Vera is here! I just have to figure out when I can go pick it up.

8) Eggs and Crescent rolls for lunch. Yum!

9) The house is cleaner now than it was when I woke up - at least most parts!

10) Bailey has his CSI flashlight out 'looking for people.' He has a funny fascination with CSI.

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful for...

1) Tomorrow is Friday - need I say more?

2) Maverick willingly went to sleep with one of those big green pacis they give at the hospital. It's not his usual paci, but I didn't want to walk outside to the car to get the only one that I know of that I had to confiscate from him earlier.

3) Counting down to entering DVR land!

4) Little boys who willingly got out of the bathtub tonight. Highly unusual!

5) A fairly productive day in the office.

6) Happy Hour at Sonic. Although, I did venture away from the usual and it wasn't quite as good as the things I normally order.

7) Quiet evenings.

8) Bailey's bedtime prayers that get more and more random by the day.

9) Less than 10 weeks to go --

10) Anticipating putting together my new shelves and getting some of my out of control closets under control.

Thankful Thursday

Today, I'm thankful for...

1) A great lunch with friends at the Greenery.

2) A wonderful babysitter that is available at the very last minute.

3) Seeing the boys be very excited when the babysitter shows up at the door.

4) Hanging out with Bailey watching CSI. I think the only thing he grasps is that people get hurt.

5) Buy one get one free deals on baby girl clothes at Macy's.

6) Growing to love my new haircut.

7) Perfect weather - low 80's - in February!

8) Hopefully going tomorrow to get my other Vera purchase approved by LT.

9) Enjoying a relatively clean house. The bed's even made.

10) Hearing Bailey randomly break into songs we sing at Mother's Day Out.

Thankful Thursday

Is it Thursday already? The blog has fallen off the radar lately and I'm hoping to remedy that soon. At least I can give you 2 days in a row so check back tomorrow for Aloha Friday!

Today I'm thankful for....

1) A delicious pot roast that cooked in the crock pot all day long.

2) A scheduled hair cut at one of the highly recommended salons here in EP. Thanks to my hubby who bought me a significant gift certificate to cover hair cuts while he's away. I think he's tired of hearing me complain about my hair as much as you are :o)

3) The show Bailey put on over me making him eat a carrot! I've never seen such drama, but the kid actually acted like he was going to gag just putting it on his fork. It was priceless and I wish I had it on video. I'm sure he's going to wake up starving in the morning.

4) My sweet 2 year old little Maverick who is a little parrot.

5) Looking forward to MOPS tomorrow morning.

6) Being able to deposit checks at home with my scanner. It's an amazingly wonderful way to do my banking!

7) Friends who are praying for us and willing to help in so many ways as we near the beginning of our year long adventure.

8) Falling asleep and waking up to Jenna Elisabeth (Jenna Beth) dancing in the womb. That has to be one of the best parts of pregnancy. I hate that men don't get to experience it.

9) The way God has provided for our needs over and above what we could ever imagine at this time when the nation is facing financial hardship left and right.

10) Getting my coupons organized and looking forward to some good deals in the next few days!

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful for....

1) Walgreens rebate savings

2) 2 of our 3 fish we bought over the weekend are still alive

3) Mavvy slept through piano lessons

4) Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!

5) Deciding that going to the FRG meeting tonight just wasn't worth my while

6) My kitchen floor was nice and clean until everyone who was outside came in and left their dusty footprints

7) We're eating at home for the first time since last Thursday, I think

8) 2 new babies were born to friends today - 2 different friends in 2 different states

9) I think it was almost 70 degrees here today

10) Discovering a website where I can buy the weekly coupon inserts from the Sunday paper (if any of you would like to give me your weekly coupon inserts from the paper, i'll gladly take them and would even pay your postage if you have to mail them to me.)

11) I got through 10 and realized I didn't mention my wonderful husband and 2 precious little boys and how blessed I am to call them all my family

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm Thankful for:

1) Our warranty on the Kia that covered whatever was making 3 lights on the dashboard come on and stay on. It was nice to sign a $0 invoice!

2) Lunch with some great girl friends today. I'm advocating a monthly lunch bunch.

3) Anticipating a few childless hours tomorrow thanks to a very kind and generous friend!

4) It's CSI night, I hope!

5) Baby heartburn is kicking in. I should be thankful for that, right? All of my children have been born with hair so I guess Jenna Beth is going to have hair, too.

6) Enjoying a good laugh or two or three...You never know what the topic of conversation will be when a certain couple are in the group.

7) Only about 48 more hours of single parenting until the vacation begins.

8) I'm almost completely over my cold or whatever I have had for the past few days.

9) Hugs and kisses from Bailey and Maverick

10) The Auto-Save function on Blogger that saved my list when Bailey closed Internet Explorer while I walked away from the computer. He doesn't understand his computer boundaries!

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful for:

1) having enough self control to keep from losing my patience in a bad way with my children when they do things that are just absolutely ludicrous

2) no one has thrown up at our house today - a change from yesterday

3) Maverick is about to go bond with his crib

4) having a sort of clean house from 3pm - 5pm today

(we've still got an hour to go so this could change)

5) chocolate chip cookies

6) looking forward to my CSI fix tonight

7) 30 days until LT's vacation begins

8) getting to share music time with my boys at MDO

9) pondering the new Vera that I'm going to be buying myself at my husband's approval - I'm actually getting 2, but 1 will be used as Jenna Beth's diaper bag and I'm spacing out the purchases so they don't both hit at once. 10) being able to put off the finishing the tax return because it's not going to end up being that great

1) Maverick sleeping through the Thursday afternoon piano lesson

3) Looking forward to LT having most of the day off tomorrow and Monday. Thank you MLK.

4) There's no snow on the ground in El Paso

5) Music time with the kiddos at MDO

6) Getting USAA to refund an NSF charge - My error, but their error.

7) Our first pay day with the 3.9% military pay raise

8) We might get enough of a tax return to go to Outback once, but in about 6 months all of LT's student loans will be paid off - Hallelujah!!!

9)Listening to Bailey say his prayers at night. Do you want to be added to his 'Thank you for..." list?

7) Being able to help our MOPS leader by planning tomorrow's meeting

8) A somewhat clean and organized bedroom

9) An 8 month break from college football

10) Watching Bailey play Red Light Green Light with his friends at Mother's Day Out
