Family Pics

A little over a month ago, I jumped on an opportunity to have an outdoor mini session with a local photographer. It was one of those like and share things on Facebook where one of my friends liked, shared, commented, etc. and so I did, too. Come to find out, this particular photographer goes to our church and even does some work in the church office on occasion, but I had never met her. When I finally did meet her at our little outdoor photo session, she was delightful and so patient with our quirky, always moving little family.

Let me just tell you that I have postponed family pictures forever because the thought of them is painful. We have had lots of picture day meltdowns in the past and even recently for soccer pictures. However, Cortney B was fantastic with the kids. She was so patient when they just wandered off and we had to call them back to order. She was never annoyed outwardly when they just wouldn't smile or cooperate or when the older 3 tried to smother Harper.

I couldn't wait to go get our picture disk from her today so I could come home and just gawk at the pictures of my sweet and crazy, not so little family! I am usually super critical of pictures of myself, but can't seem to find too much to criticize in these. She must have Photoshopped out all my chins and rolls!

Are you just dying to see how fabulous these pictures turned out?

 Aren't they cute?
 They love Harper!
Jenna Beth was the best picture taker of the day!
When did she get so grown up?
Little Miss Harper was a good sport!
She smiled from the moment we got out of the car.
 One big happy family!
 Hand in Hand.
I love Jenna Beth's sweet stance and the way she's holding Jake's
hand with both of hers. Sweet!
Run away - - - Run far, far away!!!
A remake of a back to back picture these two took
when they were about 4 and 2.
By the time we took this picture of Jenna Beth jumping,
the boys were on their way to the car, begging for dinner!
The little girls!
These were funny pictures because Harper would look up
at the camera and then would rub her feet in the grass and
make the ugliest face. She wasn't a fan of the grass on her bare legs and feet!
I think I am begging for a chocolate chip cookie after enduring this fun
 photo session with the children!

If you are the grandparent of these children, you have just previewed your Christmas gift. You will just have to look at these until I get prints in your hands.

It really wasn't nearly as stressful of an event as we thought it would be. The kids did really well most of the time, but a 30 minute session really was about all they could endure. Thanks Cortney B for capturing our family so well!

You can see more of Cortney's work here or find her on Facebook, here.
