31 Days - In This Together

Amazed! Absolutely Amazed! - - that there are people reading my posts in this 31 Day challenge and that you say you are being encouraged. Thanks to all of you, whoever you are, that have been keeping up with this whole journey of Dreaming of Simple. Knowing I have friends who are reading, supporting and joining in with their own Dreams of Simple helps me to sit and type up these posts even when it is late and I just want to be curled up in my bed! Honestly, I have thought about creating a Facebook group called "Friends Don't Let Friends Keep Crap," or something to that effect, where we could continue this challenge and share our triumphs. Maybe even have a weekly contest or something. I am still mulling it over in my mind. Moving on...

I can't remember if I have attempted this 31 Day Challenge with the Nester once or twice before, but it always seems that October is the most chaotic month to try to make this happen. The chaotic only multiplies when another part of the challenge I have made for myself is to attempt to rid this place of junk! Wow!

Today was one of those days where I was going, going, going from the time I woke the kids up for school until I finally sat down to write this post! I started off dropping my consignment stuff off at about 8:10 am. I think I was the 2nd person there. No small feat for me! I went straight from there to drop Harper off at MDO. I managed to come home for about 30 minutes to make the bed and throw a load in the washer. Knowing you know about my Daily 3 motivates me even more to get them done at all costs!

Then I met up with some  PTO ladies to do  Fall Festival shopping at Sams. We dropped those 5 carts of stuff off at the school and I headed to Walmart to get another cart full. I dropped my Walmart bounty off at the school and headed to pick up Harper. We went immediately from MDO to the big kids' school so they could buy books at the book fair. If only it ended there!

My consignor shopping time at the consignment sale was 5pm. I wanted to go check out toys for Harper since she has zip, zilch, zero at this point. Poor 4th child just has to depend on her siblings to entertain her. I shopped for an hour and got her a few things. However, after I got home I realized that the lady who rang me up didn't put a little dress I bought for Harper in my bag. Bailey had soccer practice at 7 so daddy took the big kids to soccer while Harper and I went to retrieve the forgotten $4 dress. It is a good 15 minute drive to the site of the consignment sale so I actually did debate whether or not it was worth 30 extra minutes and a 3rd trip to the Expo center for a $4 dress! The dress is pretty cute.

Once home, guess what I did! Of course, I worked on the garage! It really is coming together and I could almost pull a car in now. Jake drug the old changing table/dresser to the curb to see if someone will pick it up tomorrow. If not we will drive it down the street to the 'dump.' I am hoping to wrap up a few little details tomorrow and I will have accomplished that mission. I can't wait to be finished in there so I can move onto my next Simplifying mission which I think is going to be my master closet. Oy! I am leaving tomorrow afternoon to go on a Women's Retreat with some church ladies and want the garage to be finito before I drive away. I will be so relieved to get in the car and enjoy an hour and a half of alone time to just relax and clear my cluttered mind, which will be easy since my last sight at home will be the garage door closing on a spic and span garage, hopefully.

Thanks again for sticking with me. Whoever you are - I know who some of you are - let's keep moving forward together!
